Quality Assurance Specialist I

Job purpose

The quality assurance position performs inspection and verification of materials, manufactured parts and configured flight hardware to ensure end item deliverable meet all requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assures the quality of products
  • Performs inspection and verification of materials, manufactured parts and assembled/configured flight equipment inspection
  • Obtain and maintain workmanship certification
  • Supports test readiness and work order reviews
  • Document non-conforming products and maintain segregation of non-conforming items
  • Supports work order processing and completion
  • Evaluates technical documents such as drawings and specifications for quality requirements and in-process controls
  • Abides by and enforces adherence to published safety procedures
  • Reports to a more senior Quality Engineer
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent (or Associate's degree in these fields plus minimum 2 years of industrial experience) or 3- 5 years of experience
  • Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, quality system awareness

Working environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets

Physical requirements

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.

Position Expectations

This is a full-time position and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No travel is expected for this position.
