Drilling Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide technical engineering support to operations (Drilling Supervisor-Senior Drilling Engineer).
Provide drilling engineering input to develop drilling programs (Senior Drilling Engineer).
Perform studies and projects in support of well engineering and drilling operations.
Monitor well performance.
Research and propose performance improvement initiatives and monitor effectiveness.
Liaise with subcontractors.
Responsible to the Senior Drilling Engineering / Senior Completions Engineer for all HSE aspects of well design and completions.
Accountable for the HSE Management of design, manufacture, testing and putting in service of all well equipment used in well construction and the implementation of WWD HSE Management Standards/Policies and Petroleum FRC in well design and construction.
Accountable for the direct contract management of all Engineering and Completions Contractors under his direction.
Assist with the planning, implementation and close-out of HSE Audits of Contractors

REQUIREMENTS:
Well control
Broad range of basic drilling industry technical courses.
4 years or more practical experience.
Most of his time spent on the rig with hitches in a regional drilling office.
ONSHORE OPERATOR EXPERIENCE PERFERRED.
