Exploration Flight Controller

Job Description:

The position provides flight control and training support within the Spaceflight Systems Division of the NASA JSC Flight Operation Directorate (FOD).  The candidate would be responsible for a technical system (power, environmental, communications, or data) on the Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) or Boeing's CST-100 commercial crew vehicle. Tasking would involve design, development, testing, and system fault management evaluation for the vehicle. This may include supporting subsystem level meetings, vehicle reliability assessments, channelization assessments, testing support, display, and procedure development.  Candidate will be expected to eventually complete a certification process and become responsible for operating the vehicle's systems from the Mission Control Center in Houston during missions.

Required Education and Skills:

This is an entry level position.  The minimum education requirement is a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering (ABET).  Candidate must be able to support a flexible work schedule including shift work.  The position requires successful completion of a government background check before commencement of employment. US Citizenship is required.
