HPSS Software Developer

Job purpose

Perform complex software implementation and coding within schedules defined, integrating changes into new development environments, balancing complex business and technical requirements, resolving complex implementation problems, and documenting the final solution.

Duties and responsibilities

Review requirements and technical specifications, define design options, evaluate design options that will achieve requirements and specifications, and develop preliminary and detailed design documentation for approval.

Resolve deep-level 3 support issues.
Other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related degree
UNIX/Linux, 5 year
Programming Languages: Java, Python, 5 year
UNIX systems programming (programming for a multi-threaded, distributed application, Unix network, socket, IPC, RPC, threads programming), 5 year
Agile Development, 1 year
Open Source Software application, 1 year

Working environment

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical requirements

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.  This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing as necessary.  This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 10 pounds.

Position Expectations

This is a full-time position and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Potential travel is expected for this position.
