Instrumentation Test Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:
-Mid Level Instrumentation Test Engineer, responsible for test activities associated with the NDSB1 (Nasa Docking System, Block 1) test program.
-Provide support with development test, qualification and acceptance tests.
-Develop test documentation for Design Reviews, Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports and Test Readiness Reviews.
-Performs Environmental, Structural and System tests.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-Test Instrumentation Engineer for ISS programs supports all data acquisition and control activities within multiple environments for the program.
-This includes laboratory functional testing and space environments testing (vibration, vacuum, EMC/EMI, etc...)
-Instrumentation engineer must develop and maintain data acquisition and control systems, select and design transconducers, provide data reduction and analysis, prepare test checkout and operational procedures, and support test conduct and reporting.
-Current experience and capability with setup, operation and interpretation of multi-channel storage oscilloscopes.
-Engineer must have knowledge of data system design, architecture and measurement techniques.
-Knowledge of Instrumentation software ( e.g. LAB VIEW), open and closed loop control systems, and instrumentation wiring required.
-Transducers selection and application in multiple environments and an understanding of those requirements is necessary including calibration activities required.
-Requires data analysis, and reporting including understanding of Transducer attributes (range, accuracy, etc...), data reduction and presentation to support requirements closure and anomaly resolution, and performing uncertain analysis to support test reporting.
-Detailed troubleshooting of anomalies and supporting the program with solutions is essential.
-Acts in a supporting role with test activities associated with Environmental, Structural and System test activities.
-Support test documentation, test meetings and other test activities as directed by Task Lead Engineer (TLE).
