Position Description

Ground Systems Engineer supporting the JPSS Ground Project:

- Works with the ground and flight project to validate operations requirements.

- Support the development, integration, deployment, and initial operations of the JPSS B2.0 ground system, mission planning and scheduling, procedure development, and transition to operations, to ensure compliance with requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

- Provide anomaly resolution, troubleshooting, and configuration assistance.

- Assist in supporting JCTs, ORR Prep, ORR, and all other operational and mission testing events.

- Verification and validation of operational procedures for the S-NPP and JPSS Satellites as well as the Block 2.0 ground system.

- Supports the generation of test plans/procedures,

Position Requirements

- Participates in various meetings, TIMs, teleconferences, and face-to-face site visits/reviews throughout the development lifecycle of the spacecraft.

- Supports ground system requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICD) management by preparing or coordinating Configuration Change Request (CCR) packages and by participating in the configuration management processes.

- Identifies and mitigates risks.

- Able to work independently.

- Able to work shift work for short periods of time.
