Job Summary

Take a wireframe sketch and produce rich front-end UI components using MVVM based JavaScript frameworks and integrate them with Java/Spring MVC backend. Ability to troubleshoot complex front-end browser related CSS/JavaScript compatibility issues. Constantly find ways to simplify complicated legacy code into cleaner maintainable code. Ideally well rounded end-to-end developer with focus on UI but can also dive into back-end Java service layer when needed.

Key Responsibilities

● Design and develop ExtJS based UI layer for Java/JEE Time Tracking web application
● Ability to re-skin the application through the use of advanced CSS and Sass technologies
● Transform JSP based legacy front-end into newer ExtJS based implementation
● Troubleshoot and do root cause analysis to solve browser related front-end bugs
● New feature development, (end-to-end) using ExtJS, Spring, Hibernate, JBoss
● Familiar with JavaScript dependency management, build and minification processes
● Refactor and modify Spring MVC Controllers using TDD and mocking frameworks
● Proactively identify areas of improvement and formulate creative solutions

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Minimum 2 years' experience working with JavaScript frameworks (ExtJS, Angular etc)
4-6 Years Web Application development experience preferably in Java

Technical Skills

Worked with at least one full featured JavaScript framework, preferably ExtJS, or others like AngularJS, Backbone, YUI etc
JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Sass
Mobile Development (iPhone, Android)
Java & JEE technologies: Spring, JSP, Servlets, Spring MVC (or equivalent frameworks like Struts), JDBC, JPA/Hibernate
Clear concepts of MVC/MVVM Models and Gang-of-Four Design Patterns
Database and SQL skills

Nice to have

JPA/Hibernate
Agile (SCRUM) development methodology - knowledge of TDD or BDD
JBoss and Tomcat
JUnit or TestNG, Mockito, Spring Test framework
SVN, Accurev, or Git
Sencha Architect, Eclipse, Gradle, Ant or Maven
