Physical Packer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Candidate will support the International Space Station Program (ISSP). This position is responsible for packing / unpacking International Space Station (ISS) unique hardware per drawing design specifications for hardware to be launched on NASA or International Partners (IP) vehicles. Candidate will be responsible for safe handling of Flight Classified Space hardware to ensure mission success, gound handling, and safety of ground personnel and equipment. This position includes the ability review and understand hardware flight and ground handling requirements for safe processing. The ability to coordinate work and manage a schedule with attention to priorities.  Technicians should be able to work with Quality Assurance and other CMC Cargo Processing team members to resolve issues.  The candidate will be responsible for taking all imagery associated with CMC hardware processing.

Candidate will be responsible for the coordination and de-integration of all returning ISS hardware. This will include disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous items as well as packaging returned hardware in preparation for shipment back to the providers. 

Candidate will support continuous improvement opportunities to the existing cargo integration process including Program Defined Process and metrics development

DESIRED SKILLS:

Successful experience in ISS Program task coordination and integration is highly desired. Good understanding of cargo integration, physical processing operations and/or safety processes is required. Candidate must have a strong past performance record including strong multi-tasking/work prioritization and organizational skills. Must be able to manage work in a dynamic environment and successfully meet program requirements and schedule milestones by providing on-time and quality products. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively coordinate across various teams. Candidate must be detail oriented and have strong engineering/logistical background. Candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and to shift priorities/workload as dictated by programmatic changes. Candidate must be able to effectively work and make sound decisions based on a thorough understanding of both CMC and ISSP cargo integration requirements. Must be able to read Engineering drawings/layout.  Required software skills include basic Microsoft Office Suite.  Desired knowledge of MS Sharepoint Systems, Networking and Electronic Work Order execution
