Systems Integration Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Provide engineering and systems integration expertise to the Commercial Crew Program, System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) group, and specifically the Safety Technical Review Board (STRB), Provider Comment Working Group (PCWG), and stakeholder review teams. Engineers will facilitate Hazard Report review activities and provide technical process support to the STRB. Hazard reports and associated comments will be reviewed to assure compliance with SSP 30599, CCT-PLN-1120, and CCT-REQ-1130.

Work will be accomplished by interfacing with CCP SE&I personnel, NASA stakeholders in Engineering, Health and Human Performance directorates at NASA centers, and appropriate CCP partner personnel to enable approval of assigned Hazard Reports.

TASKS INCLUDE:

• Facilitate and coordinate submission of commercial provider Hazard Reports and Hazard Report comments in support of the Commercial Crew Program's Phased Safety Review Process.
• Provide safety technical expertise to the STRB, Provider Comment Working Group, and stakeholder review teams.
• Provide technical coordination with other NASA centers, contractors, programs, and industry partners to facilitate a clear and consistent understanding of topics, issues, and actions associated with the STRB.
• Provide assessment of the hazard report against the data submittal requirements contained in SSP 30599 to determine whether the Hazard Report is acceptable for distribution and STRB review.
• Coordinate collection of Hazard Report comments from stakeholder review teams and act as a focal point to manage the set of comments against Hazard Reports submitted for STRB review. Provide technical screening and disposition of comments to ensure the elimination of duplicates.
• Facilitate Partner Comment Working Group (PCWG) discussions to communicate the intent and background associated with all submitted comments to ensure proper awareness and incorporation. This may include offline discussions with the Partners and/or commenters in an effort to resolve issues prior to the STRB.
• Provide inputs to metrics meant to measure the health of the safety review process.
• Ability to Travel - Assume total of 3 trips of 5 days each for each (Houston – Los Angeles, Houston – Denver, Houston – Kennedy Space Center) to support Technical Interchange or similar meetings.
