Test Technician

PRIMARY CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Provide consultation on test requirements, test fixture design and test methods.
Identify and resolve test anomalies.
Understand thermal vacuum environments and reaction characteristics of chambers.
Knowledge of chamber material compatibility, outgas testing, feedthrough cabling, lamp array setup, cold plates, thermocouple installation, multi-layer insulation blankets and remote data acquisition and control system operation.
Knowledge and experience with testing in the random vibration environment including test article installation, accelerometer installation, test article ops and the vibration spectrum.
Experience with small and large scale static loads tests including knowledge of hydraulic systems, structural steel fixture assembly, stress and deflection measurement techniques.
Oversee design, fabrication, build, and evaluation of test fixtures, test racks and data acquisition and control computer systems.
Operate special purpose test racks and data acquisition and control systems.
Oversee fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown of system tests.
Ability to work any shift and weekends and extended shifts, when tests are being performed around the clock.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Develop/execute database for maintaining inventory and calibration of test equipment.
Experience with travel to support test activities in unfamiliar locations.
Set up, calibrate, and operate leak test equipment.
Test conductor on moderate complexity tests.
Prepare moderate complexity test plans, test procedures and test reports.
Develop test readiness reviews and haz/ops packages and conduct presentations.
Formal education in Aerospace technology , engineering or science.
